About Health Ethics Trust

The Health Ethics Trust (HET), part of the Council of Ethical Organizations, is a non-profit, non-partisan organization established in 1994 as an educational and service resource for healthcare organizations advancing ethics and compliance in healthcare. The Trust provides a full agenda of educational programs and conferences, training programs, advisory services, hotline support, hotline training, professional certifications, compliance program assessment, compliance risk assessment, and survey research on ethics-compliance issues.

The HET has both individual and organizational members committed to healthcare ethics and compliance in healthcare. Organizational members include providers, systems, MCOs, payors, plans, home care agencies, suppliers, pharmaceuticals, med tech companies and other healthcare sectors. Individual members come from all segments of healthcare. HET maintains benchmark policies, practices and models for most aspects of ethics-compliance programs.

HET is well known as the sponsor of the Annual Best Compliance Practices Forum Best Compliance Practices. The Forum is a national, peer review process which has identified 225 best compliance practices over the past 26 years. These practices form a unique resource for healthcare compliance and ethics programs.
