Most of today’s healthcare compliance programs are built around the compliance risks associated with traditional Medicare. But the compliance risks associated with traditional Medicare are only half of the Medicare compliance picture. Several years back, John E. Kelly, formerly a senior executive in the Department of Justice and now head of the Barnes and Thornburg healthcare practice, pioneered understanding of the compliance risks inherent in Advantage plans. HIs work has proven prophetic in light of the recent direction of healthcare enforcement. Mr. Kelly will be joined on this program by Jacqueline Papish, also a partner at Barnes and Thornburg and one of the leading compliance experts at many Health Ethics Trust conferences and program.

WHEN: December 7| 9:00AM – 4:00 PM ET

WHERE: ONLINE

Compliance program assessment is an essential part of compliance programs as emphasized in the standards issued by the US Department of Justice and the DHHS Office of Inspector General. The Health Ethics Trust has been assessing hundreds of compliance programs for 27 years and has offered the Compliance Program Assessors Course continuously throughout this period. This one day course is being offered virtually.

Attendees not only gain practical experience assessing the elements of a compliance program; they also learn how to bench mark programs. Benchmarking is the key to credible program assessments with executive management and boards of directors. Attendees receive detailed guideline for assessing all elements of a compliance program.

Those who successfully complete the Assessors Course are also qualified to participate in the Trust’s Compliance Program Certification process as peer reviewers. This is the only compliance program certification process in healthcare and it is entirely peer driven. Peer reviewers report that this is a valuable experience and assists them in strengthening their own programs.

This one day intensive course is next offered on December 7 as a virtual course. Given the interactive nature of the course, enrollment is quite limited. See detailed information and registration options at healthethicstrust.com/education/assessors/.
