27th Annual Best Compliance Practices Forum

The 27th Annual Healthcare: Best Compliance Practices Forum (virtual) occurs on October 20 – 21. You must enroll by October 18. Since 1995, the Forum has recognized 220 Best Compliance Practices. This year over 100 practices were submitted with 10 selected as Best Practices. These practices cover many compliance program areas that are evolving most quickly. There will be 27 presenters including a faculty of nationally leading compliance experts.

The Forum was established in 1995 by the Health Ethics Trust in cooperation with the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

The Forum confers 16 CEUs for Health Ethics Trust credentials (CCP, CCE); credit for HCCA/CCB credentials is pending.

2022 Best Practice Award Winners

As the Best Practices Forum is just  around the corner, we continue to announce winners of the Best Practice Awards. We have already announced awards to UPMC Insurance Services,WPS Health Solutions, Health Care Service Corporation, the Moffitt Cancer Center (two awards), and Intermountain Healthcare.

Additional Best Practice Awards will go to West Tennessee Healthcare (CMS Conditions of Participation), GuideWell Source (Gamifying Micro-Learning), and the University of Miami Health System (Developing a Specialized Compliance Educational Initiatives Team and Annual Compliance Training: Fraud, Waste and Abuse).

All 10 Best Practices Award winners will present their practices in detail at the Forum and presentations will be supplied to all Best Practice attendees upon completion of the program. All award winning practices have been implemented for at least a year and are backed with evidence of their effectiveness.

Compliance Program Assessors Course

Compliance program assessment is a recognized component of an effective compliance program as documented in standards promulgated by the US Department of Justice, the US Sentencing Commission and the DHHS OIG. The Health Ethics Trust has assessed hundreds of compliance programs over the past 25 years and has offered the  Program Assessors Course throughout this period.

Attendees not only gain practical experience in assessing compliance programs; they also learn how to bench mark and score compliance programs. Benchmarking is key to the credibility of a program assessment with leadership and the board.

Those who successfully complete the Assessors Course are qualified to serve in the Trust’s Compliance Program Certification process as peer reviewers.

This one-day, intensive course is next offered on December 8. Because of the interactive nature of this course, enrollment is limited. There is information concerning this program at Assessors.
